Content

This major builds on the subjects Accounting Information Systems and Financial Reporting, which have already introduced you to the concepts and mechanics of basic bookkeeping and accounting. It adds budget development, management and monitoring, and the skills and knowledge required to oversee the day-to-day financial operations of a small business or a department within a larger organisation. The major is not intended to cover detailed specialist accounting skills that are undertaken by qualified accountants or financial controllers, but does include the awareness of accounting issues and concepts needed by managers for effective communication with accountants or other specialists on financial matters.

Please note that subjects may be changed at the discretion of the College to keep them up to date, to comply with industry Training Package requirements, or for timetabling purposes
