Events management major
The program
The Advanced Diploma of Business Management is an appropriate qualification for entry to lower or trainee management positions and subsequent progress, with experience, to middle management or setting up your own business. It is also a practical method of entering a relevant degree program, using the Advanced Diploma qualification to gain both employment and substantial credits towards university study.
Over the past 20 years, our programs in management and marketing have established a reputation for depth, breadth and student achievement. Our graduates are employed in all business areas, in large and small organisations in Australia and internationally.
One of the reasons for this success is that the course blends the intensely practical skills of the Certificate IV in Business with the intellectual rigor of upper level competencies in the Advanced Diploma. You are also able to tailor the course by selecting a major that suits your personal interests and direction.
The Events Management major provides knowledge of the structure,
operation and technology of the rapidly-growing events industry, and the skills
required for concept development, venue selection,
and the management of sponsorship activities.

Course content
The subjects used in our version of the Advanced Diploma of Business Management build on the practical skills and foundation knowledge achieved in the Certificate IV in Business, which occupies the first semester of the course. These emphasise computer and interpersonal communication skills -- indispensable tools in today's competitive business world. They also cover accounting systems using MYOB, supervision and project management skills, and knowledge of practical aspects of marketing.
At the Advanced Diploma level, the subjects include managing strategy development and planning, day-to-day operational management and customer service focus, methods and styles of leadership that achieve results, and a knowledge of the legal framework in which businesses must operate. The subjects in your chosen major allow you to personalise the course.
Please note that subjects may be changed at the discretion of the College to keep them up to date, to comply with industry Training Package requirements, or for timetabling purposes.
